On July 11 and 12, I joined about 10,000 cyclists on a 200-mile ride from Seattle to Portland. Check back here frequently -- or better yet, become a "follower" or subscribe to a feed (see below) -- for photos I upload to my blog, 80 rpm.
In the world of cycling, cadence refers to the speed at which a cyclist turns the pedals. Recreational cyclists pedal at about 60 rpm, while racing cyclists are known to keep a cadence of 100 rpm. You could say that the hobbyist transforms into an athlete at 80 rpm.
